    Waxy corn or glutinous corn is a type of field corn characterized by its sticky texture when cooked as a result of larger amounts of amylopectin.

    Fresh white glutinous corn comes neatly packed and is good as a starch thickener and in other cooking applications. Glutinous corn contains a mutant waxy gene which makes it glutinous (or waxy), and thus it is also called waxy corn. Waxy corn comes in white and yellow colours. This particular one is white, which is less sweet compared to the yello one, but definitely chewier.
